Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa will pay a one-day courtesy visit to Namibia on Monday, 15 January 2018.
Mnangagwa who replaced that country’s longtime leader Robert Mugabe last November will use the occasion to formally introduce himself since assuming office and hold bilateral talks with his Namibian counterpart Dr. Hage G. Geingob, said the Namibian Presidency today.
President Geingob also serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
This is the first working visit by President Mnangagwa since his inauguration in November 2017. The visit is being conducted in the interest of further strengthening existing excellent bilateral relations between Namibia and Zimbabwe and to consider new possible areas of cooperation. He is also expected to meet with Zimbabwean nationals in Windhoek at a venue yet to be announced.
